Yellowbird East Community League
Incorporation Date: 1981

Both Keheewin and Bearspaw neighborhoods fall within the Yellowbird East Community League's boundaries. Both areas are located in the southern part of Kaskitayo. Housing development in both Keheewin and Bearspaw began in the 1980s. Keheewin -- Cree for "eagle" -- is characterized by a mix of residential and commercial uses. Keheewin has an elementary school to serve the high number of young children living here and several large retail developments are close by.

Bearspaw is named for Stony Indian Chief Masgwaahisd (Bearspaw). Many area homes are centered on attractive sites, including Bearspaw Lake and Blackmud Creek Ravine. Though strictly residential, the area offers easy access to the commercial centers.
